Camp BGen Vicente P Lim- Police Regional Office CALABARZON has confiscated Php247,121.00 worth of illegal drugs in the last 24 hours as part of its daily operations regionwide, from 6:00 am to 6:00 am of November 2-3, 2022.

The Regional Director, PBGEN Nartatez said that the illegal drugs, in the form of crystal meth or “shabu” and marijuana products were seized by police anti-drug units in 18 separate anti-illegal drug operations done in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 4A.

A total of 27 suspects were arrested during the said operations, wherein 25 of them are Street Level Individuals (SLI). The operations netted 18.32 grams of shabu and 1,000 grams of Marijuana, all valued at Php247, 121.00.

The arrest and seizure with the highest impact was done against Christian Jonel Bermudo Babagay alias “Jonel in a buy-bust operation, Wednesday evening that yielded Php 121,500.00 worth of high-grade marijuana also known as “kush”. Babagay is a college student who was listed as one of Antipolo CPS high value drug individuals.

Also on the same day, suspects Angelica Dela Cruz and Jade Rommel Cesista were nabbed in an anti-illegal drug operation in Biñan City, Laguna. Seized from their possession were roughly 1.6 grams of shabu with estimated value of Php10,400.00.

In Angono Rizal, suspect Paul Jeffrey Baltazar was arrested during a buy-bust operation evening of November 2 along Manila East Road, Brgy San Roque. Seized from his possession was more or less 2.5 grams of shabu with street value of Php6,500.00.

“This is the result of our continuous and intensified campaign against illegal drugs which I have always reiterated in line with my 7-Point Agenda under our Enhanced-Managing Police Operations. It is however alarming that one of the suspects involved was a college student. Hence, I want to emphasize the need to intensify our anti- illegal drug campaign targeting students and the academe to promote awareness on the ill effects of illegal drugs,” said the Regional Director.

“I likewise enjoin all our personnel to keep the momentum in the various programs and operations in our campaign against illegal drugs and other anti-crime efforts. Let us also engage our communities through our KASIMBAYANAN project to draw support from the people and cooperate with us in our objectives towards tranquility and progress in CALABARZON region,” PBGEN Nartatez added.

Arrested suspects will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (RPIO4A)
