Camp BGen Vicente P Lim- Anti-illegal drug operatives of Police Regional Office CALABARZON seized Php2,580,000.00 worth of illegal drugs and arrested 2 High Value Individuals (HVI) in separate police operations conducted at Antipolo City, Rizal and Dasmariñas City, Cavite, on November 16, 2022.


The arrested suspect in the Antipolo City drug operation was identified as Lester Salcedo De Borja, alias “Kuya”, 27 years old, resident of Lores Country Homes Subdivision, Brgy. San Roque, Antipolo City, Rizal while Yusop Pangandag Yasin, 28, resident of Brgy. Datu Esmael, Dasmariñas City, Cavite, was apprehended during a similar operation in Dasmariñas City.


De Borja was arrested by combined operatives of Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 4A, Antipolo City Police Station, PNP Drug Enforcement Group-Special Operations Unit 4A and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 4A during a buy-bust operation at his residence after he was caught selling a brick of suspected “marijuana” to a police officer acting as a poseur-buyer yesterday evening.


Meanwhile, Yasin was arrested by joint elements of the Regional Drug Unit Enforcement Unit 4A together with Cavite Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Dasmariñas City Police Station, and PDEA4A during a similar operation at about 10:22 PM in Via Verde Subdivision, Brgy. San Agustin 2, Dasmariñas City.


13 pieces of transparent plastic bundles containing dried leaves of suspected Marijuana bricks with an estimated weight of 13 kilograms valued at Php1,560,000.00, a mobile phone, a genuine Php1000.00 bill and 15 pieces of Php1,000.00 boodle money used as buy-bust money were confiscated from De Borja’s possession.


On the other hand, two pieces of transparent plastic sachets containing alleged shabu with roughly 150 grams valued at Php1,020,000.00 and a black bag was recovered from Yasin’s possession.


PRO CALABARZON Regional Director, PBGen Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr., said the arrest of these High Value Individuals is another great feat in the PNP’s campaign against illegal drugs. “This is the result of our continuous and intensified operations to combat the illegal drug menace in our society. I further encourage our operatives to double their efforts. Together, let us build drug-free communities for the people of CALABARZON,” the Regional Director added.


Both suspects will be charged with violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the ‘Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.’ ### (RPIO4A) (Edjun)
