Camp BGen Pantaleon Garcia, Imus City, Cavite – PCol Christopher F Olazo, Provincial Director, Cavite PPO announces the arrest of the suspect in a robbery incident with a homicide case in Brgy. Sta Fe., Dasmariñas City, Cavite on March 28,2023.
PCol Olazo identified the suspect as one (1) Angelito Erlano y Lacerna, 39, and a resident of Brgy Victoria Reyes, Dasmariñas City, Cavite.
According to the report, at about 10:40 in the morning of April 1, 2023, while the Provincial Intelligence Unit, Dasmariñas CPS and RID-RIT were conducting a follow-up operation and investigation in Brgy. Victoria Reyes, wherein information from a confidential informant that Erlano was hiding at the house of his friend, a place of his arrest.
During the arrest, the suspect managed to attack the responding officer with an improvised pointed weapon, a screwdriver. However, the apprehending officer was able to prevent the attack, resulting in the successful apprehension of the suspect. At around 11:50 AM, the suspect was brought to the Dasmariñas CPS.
One (1) piece of screwdriver was recovered from the suspect during the arrest.
The suspect was charged with Robbery with Homicide and Direct Assault Upon an Agent of Person in Authority.
PNP Chief General RODOLFO S. AZURIN, Jr. commends the efforts of PRO4A and Cavite PPO for the relentless operations conducted which led to the arrest of the suspect. He said, “We condemn this heinous crime and we will ensure that the perpetrator will be put behind bars and be punished for the crime he committed. We also thank the public for the cooperation they made with the authorities and for the information that has provided for the arrest of the suspect.
PBGen Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr., lauded the police operatives of Cavite PPO under the leadership of PCol Christopher F Olazo, for their remarkable actions that resulted in the arrest of the suspect.
