Intensified Carnapping operation that resulted in the arrest of two suspects and Recovery of 2 suspected Carnapped MotorVehicle and other falsified documents in the Province of Batangas at 3:40 AM of December 8, 2023 Mercedes Homes Subdivision, Brgy San Isidro Norte, Santo Tomas City, Batangas

Regional Highway Patrol Unit 4A, Camp BGen Vicente P Lim –Joint operations of RHPU4A led by PLT ARVIN S RAMOS and elements of PHPT-Batangas led by PMAJ JASON STO DOMINGO Provincial Officer of PHPT Batangas under the direct supervision of PCOL ROMMEL C ESTOLANO Regional Chief together with SANTO TOMAS CITY POLICE STATION led by PLTCOL RODEL S BAN-O arrested two suspects, Roberto Dordas Baliguat and Leonardo Dogello Dayo for Grave Threat and violation of RA 10591 (Illegal possession of firearms) and Recovery of 2 suspected Carnapped and other falsified documents.

The Victim/Complainant Ryan Ballesteros y Juanillo, and Catherine Rose Colo y Maloloy-on, sought the assistance of duty PNP patrol members of Sto Tomas CPS who were roving in the said place after the aforesaid suspects armed with short firearms drew and pointed towards them. Acting on the said report, responding patrol members immediately coordinated the incident with the personnel of RHPU4A together with the victims, and proceeded to the place of the incident to conduct follow-up operations. Upon arriving thereat, the operating team saw two (2) male individuals standing in front of the house where the reported initial commotion transpired and who were positively identified by the victims as the suspects who pointed short firearms at them. Immediately, the responding personnel approached the suspects and calmly asked the latter to raise their hands upwards and surrender their short firearms visibly tucked in their waists. Thereafter, the operating team immediately subdued the suspects affected their arrest and were able to seize the following pieces of evidence Recovered from suspect 1: Seized pieces of evidence were one (1) caliber 9mm Taurus G3 Pistol with serial number ADK245302 marked with RJB, three (3) magazines marked with RJB-1, RJB-2, and RJB-3, 42 live ammunition of Cal 45 marked with RJB-4 to RJB-45, one (1) unit of OPPO Cellular Phone marked with RJB-46 and one (1) car key; (Recovered from suspect 1), one caliber 45 (1) Armscor with serial number 1440121 marked with RDB; two (1) magazine marked with RDB-1 and RDB-2, twenty-four (24) ammunition marked with RDB-3 to RDB-27 and one (1) car key (Recovered from suspect 2), Nissan Urvan with attached plate VAA 3574 and Toyota Hi-Ace with attached plate NDX3642, twenty-eight (28) pcs of assorted plate numbers and ten (10) pcs of suspected spurious certificate of registration for various vehicle.

RC, RHPU4A requesting the appearance of the legitimate owners of the aforementioned plate numbers to cooperate on the ongoing investigation duly conducted by the HPG4A for the possible recovery of their stolen motor vehicle.

Furthermore, the suspects were subsequently informed of their arrest and apprised of the constitutional rights under the Miranda doctrine. Arrested suspects are now under the custody of Santo Tomas CPS for documentation. Santo Tomas CPS is now preparing a complaint of Grave threats and Violation of 10591 for filing at the City Prosecutors of Sto Tomas, while the RHPU4A investigation Section is now preparing the complaint of carnapping and falsification of official documents for filing before the Prosecutor’s Office.

The outstanding accomplishment of RHPU4A is the result of intensified Anti-Carnapping Operations of the Highway Patrol Group under the Leadership of PBGEN ALAN M NAZARRO, In line with the CPNP’s Aggressive and Honest Law Enforcement operations against carnapping, highway robbery, and other forms of criminality along the highway. #Edjun Mariposque
