Calamba City, Laguna – In a bid to support the reintegration of former rebels into mainstream society, the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 4A, and 402nd A Manuever Company in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), organized a livelihood assistance program held at Camp General Macario Sakay in Brgy. Lalakay, Los Baños, Laguna, this morning.

Led by PCol. Agosto M. Asuncion and PCpt. RAYMUND Alfred S. OSEA, the event saw the distribution of livelihood packages to 12 rebel returnees, with most hailing from the province of Quezon.

According to DOLE LAGUNA PROVINCIAL DIRECTOR GUIDO R. RECIO, the provision of livelihood support falls under DOLE’s regular program dubbed “TULONG SA VULNERABLE SECTORS,” which caters to various marginalized groups, including out-of-school youth, displaced workers, and, since their return to the government, former rebels.

PCpt. RAYMUND Alfred S. OSEA emphasized that the 12 individuals who reintegrated into society were given livelihood assistance packages to help kickstart their new lives.

Former Rebel Alyas RJ expressed his gratitude to the government for extending assistance to their reintegration efforts, particularly for providing livelihood support.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) 4A also encourages those who have yet to surrender to trust in the government’s initiatives, especially the RMFB and the 402nd, assuring them of support and assistance in their journey back to mainstream society. They emphasize their commitment to helping all those who decide to return to the fold of the government, ensuring not only their welfare but also the well-being of their families.

The event serves as a testament to the government’s commitment to peace and development, demonstrating its willingness to support former rebels in rebuilding their lives and contributing positively to their communities.

As the nation continues its efforts towards sustainable peace and development, initiatives like these underscore the importance of holistic approaches in addressing the root causes of conflict, fostering reconciliation, and promoting social inclusion.

In conclusion, the provision of livelihood assistance to former rebels in Laguna signifies a step forward in the journey towards lasting peace and prosperity, highlighting the government’s unwavering dedication to building a more inclusive and harmonious society for all Filipinos.
