A significant drug bust took place in Barangay Poblacion, Aguilar, Pangasinan on March 22, 2024, when joint operatives from the PDEA Regional Office IV-A Special Enforcement Team 2 and the PDEA Pangasinan Provincial Office conducted a buy-bust operation.
The operation led to the apprehension of two suspects identified as Donato Abideo and Vernie Abideo, both residents of Nalusbo Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet. Both suspects, aged 19 and 26 respectively, work as gardeners.
Approximately 12,000 grams of suspected marijuana, valued at Php1,440,000.00, along with buy-bust money, were confiscated from the duo during the operation.
Donato Abideo and Vernie Abideo will be facing charges for violating Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
