Nakaambang sampahan ng kasong attempted homicide or murder ang mga persons of interest sa pamamaril ng isang government staff noong Hulyo 15, 2024, sa Barangay San Gregorio, San Pablo, Laguna.
Kinilala ni PLtCol. Wilhelmino Saldivar Jr., ang biktima na si Marc Angelo Barrios.
Ayon kay Barios, isinaad niya na pauwi na siya sakay ng kanyang motorsiklo nang makasalubong niya ang dalawang suspek na sakay rin ng motorsiklo, habang papaliko siya ay napansin ng biktima na tila huminto at lalapitan siya ng suspect kaya pinatakbo niya ng mabilis ang kanyang motor at doon na siya pinaputukan. Nang makarating na siya sa gate ng Bria ay agad niyang sinabi sa Security Guard na tumawag ng pulis dahil pinapuputukan siya ng baril.
Agad inaksyunan ng kapulisan ang insidente at nagsagawa ng masusing imbestigasyon sa lugar ng pinangyarihan.
Base sa mga pahayag ng mga kaibigan ng biktima, may pagbabanta na noong pang una na papaputukan si Barrios ng isa rin sa kaibigan nila, na siya ngang tumugma sa nangyari ngayon sa kanya.
Ang tinitingnang motibo diumano ay dahil sa masyadong pagiging malapit ng biktima sa ama ng suspek na tila pinagse-selosan na nitong anak. Nadagdagan pa nang pagsabihan ng biktima ang suspect ukol sa isa sa mga magandang dilag na tinatawag nilang mga Angels na diumano’y itinuturing nang kapatid ni Barios na dumagdag pa lalu sa pinagselosan ng suspek.
Si Barrios ay miyembro ng Laguna Patrol at siya ay isang empleyado ng isang konsehal sa lungsod ng San Pablo. Ito ay sa gitna ng mga spekulasyon na maaaring may kaugnayan ang insidente sa trabaho ng biktima. Wala din siyang maalala na kagalit o nakaaway.
Dagdag pa ni Saldivar, media man o hindi ay kanilang agad tutulungan at aaksyunan, patuloy din ang pagpapatrolya ng kapulisan upang mapanatili ang kapayapaan at kaayusan sa lungsod. Tinitiyak nilang walang anumang banta sa seguridad ng mga residente ng San Pablo City.
Hinihikayat din ni Saldivar ang publiko na makipagtulungan sa mga awtoridad at agad na iulat ang anumang kahina-hinalang kilos o impormasyon na maaaring makatulong sa imbestigasyon.
