Mondragon, Northern Samar – On August 10, 2024, personnel from 125SAC, 12SAB, SAF together with the elements of 803rd Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 8 as lead unit and other PNP units facilitated the voluntary surrender of a Communist Terrorist Group Member in Brgy. Imelda, Mondragon, Northern Samar.
The surrenderer, a PSR listed CTG Member and Vice Platoon Leader under Sub-Regional Guerilla Unit Amihan, Sub-Regional Committee Emporium, Eastern Visayas Regional Party Committee, has made a significant step towards peace. Motivated by his desire to reintegrate into mainstream society, he surrendered one caliber 5.56mm M16A1 rifle with six magazines and 126 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, one binocular, one bandolier, and one jungle bag pack.
803rd MC, RMFB 8 took custody of the surrenderer and turned in items for documentation, proper disposition, and enrollment in the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program of the government.
The successful operation stands as a testament to the dedication of the PNP SAF and other law enforcement agencies in fostering regional peace and security. By facilitating the integration of former insurgents into the community, the SAF continues to play a vital role in securing lasting peace and stability in Northern Samar. (SAF)
