Philippine Government Releases Mugshot of Religious Leader Apollo Quiboloy Amid Legal Battles

Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos has released the official mugshot of Apollo Quiboloy, the founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), and his co-accused. The release, which occurred on Tuesday, has drawn significant public attention, shedding more light on the legal controversies surrounding the religious leader.

In his post, Abalos emphasized the importance of the rule of law. He stated, “‘No one is above the law.’ Ito po ang opisyal na mugshot nina Apollo Quiboloy at iba pa, kaugnay ng kanilang mga kinakaharap na kaso sa ating bansa,” signaling that Quiboloy and others involved are not exempt from facing justice.

Quiboloy has been a controversial figure both in the Philippines and abroad. However, there has been no formal request from the United States for his extradition related to the charges he faces internationally. Despite this, the release of his mugshot has heightened speculation about possible future legal actions.

President Ferdinand Marcos addressed the situation, clarifying that Quiboloy would undergo trial in the Philippines first if an extradition request were ever made. Marcos stressed the need for the country’s legal processes to be respected before any external requests could be entertained.

For now, Quiboloy’s legal battles will continue within the Philippines, where he remains under investigation. His situation is being closely watched as the justice system proceeds with the charges against him and his co-accused.
