Road Rage Escalates into Shooting Incident in Calamba City

Calamba City, October 3, 2024 – A road rage incident in Ciudad de Calamba, Brgy. Punta, escalated into a shooting at approximately 10:20 PM on October 2, 2024, resulting in serious injury to one victim. The shooting, which occurred near Montebello Subdivision, was reported to authorities several hours later at 12:50 AM on October 3.

According to the initial investigation, victims Marian, 48, and her husband Jack were traveling in their black Mitsubishi Expander from Manila when they overtook a suspect, leading to a heated altercation. The unidentified male suspect, riding an unknown motorcycle, reportedly became enraged, tailed their vehicle, and overtook them.

As the victims reached their home in Montebello Subdivision, the suspect opened fire on their vehicle multiple times. Marian sustained injuries and was immediately transported to Calamba Medical Center for treatment.

Fortunately, her husband was unharmed. The suspect fled the scene, heading toward Brgy. Punta. Authorities have launched a manhunt, conducting a follow-up investigation and backtracking CCTV footage for leads.

A dragnet operation and scene processing by SOCO have also been initiated. The Calamba City Police is urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward to assist in identifying the suspect. (NAD)
