Vilma Santos-Recto and Sons Unite for 2025 Batangas Elections

Batangas, Philippines – Batangas 6th District Representative Vilma Santos-Recto, together with her sons Luis Manzano and Ryan Christian Santos-Recto, officially filed their Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) on Thursday, October 3, at the Batangas Provincial Capitol for the upcoming Halalan 2025.

In a heartfelt message to her supporters, Vilma Santos expressed gratitude to the Batangueños who joined them during the event:
“Maraming salamat sa lahat ng Batangueñong sinamahan kami kanina. Ramdam ko ang pagmamahal niyo sa aming pamilya! Asahan po ninyo na maglilingkod kami ng buong puso at siguraduhing mapunan pa ang mga pangangailangan ng mga kababayan natin sa Batangas sa abot ng aming makakaya, pag kami po ay mabibigyan niyo ng pagkakataong makapaglingkod.”

Santos-Recto, known for her remarkable career as both an actress and a public servant, aims to return as Batangas governor. She previously held the post from 2007 to 2016. This time, she will be accompanied by her sons in their first joint political venture. Luis Manzano, a renowned television host, is stepping into politics for the first time, running for vice governor. Ryan Christian, meanwhile, is aspiring to succeed his mother as representative of the 6th district.

The family’s candidacy has garnered strong public interest and support. Luis’ wife, actress Jessy Mendiola, and Department of Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, Vilma’s husband, were also present, lending their full backing to the Recto family’s bid for provincial leadership.

Under their united banner of “Talino at Puso,” the Santos-Recto family promises to bring progress and development to Batangas as they seek to continue their legacy of public service.

“Bisyon ang Mas Maunlad na Batangas sa Bagong Pilipinas” remains their guiding principle, with the family aiming to foster change, growth, and prosperity in the province.
