Laguna, Philippines – October 7, 2024 — Vice Governor Karen Agapay officially filed her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for the 2025 gubernatorial race, seeking to become the governor in Laguna. Agapay, who completed three consecutive terms as Vice Governor—the first to do so in Laguna’s history—made the announcement during a modest yet joyful gathering despite the rainy weather.

Running under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), Agapay is partnering with Lorenzo “Boy” Zuñiga Jr. as her candidate for Vice Governor. The tandem is gearing up for the upcoming 2025 elections with a platform focused on sustainable development, public welfare, and inclusive governance.

“Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng nakibahagi sa aming simple ngunit masaya, bagamat umuulan, na Filing ng Candidacy for Governor at Lorenzo Boy Zuñiga Jr. bilang Vice Governor. Eto na po ang simula ng bagong chapter ng ating buhay. May the good Lord, guide us all,” Agapay shared on social media, expressing gratitude for the support and enthusiasm of her followers.

Known as the Abogada ng Masa and KaAgapay ng Laguna, Agapay has built a reputation for her public service, particularly her advocacy for the marginalized and her dedication to improving local governance. She aims to bring her experience and passion into the governorship, pledging to continue working towards the welfare and progress of Laguna residents.

With her slogan “KaAgapay sa Tagumpay,” Agapay’s gubernatorial run signals a fresh chapter not only for her political career but also for the province of Laguna as it faces crucial decisions in the upcoming 2025 elections.

The province, long considered a political and economic hub in Southern Luzon, awaits with anticipation as Agapay looks to make history once again—this time, as Governor.
