Three Arrested for Illegal Firearms Possession in Subic

Zambales – On October 9, 2024, a joint law enforcement operation in Barangay Naugsol, Subic led to the arrest of three suspects for violating Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Olongapo City Field Unit, with support from the Special Action Force (SAF) and other units, carried out the successful raid in Purok 3 and Purok 5.

The suspects, identified by their aliases “Garry,” “Niano,” and “Kilik,” were apprehended after a series of search operations conducted in their respective residences. Multiple unlicensed firearms and ammunition were seized during the raid, adding to the seriousness of the charges against them.

Search Warrants 2024-34, 2024-35, and 2024-36 were issued by Hon. Raymond C. Viray of the Regional Trial Court, Olongapo City, on October 8, 2024, allowing law enforcement to search the suspects’ homes. The operation was meticulously planned and executed based on these warrants.

Authorities recovered various weapons, including improvised shotguns, revolvers, and rifles, all without serial numbers, as well as live ammunition. These illegal items were found hidden in the homes of the three suspects during the search.

All arrested individuals and confiscated firearms are now under the custody of the CIDG Olongapo City Field Unit. Proper documentation and further investigation are ongoing as the suspects face charges related to illegal firearms possession.
