Provincial Intelligence Unit Seizes Php1 Million Worth of Shabu in Taytay Buy-Bust

Nearly Php1 million worth of shabu was seized in a successful buy-bust operation carried out by the Provincial Intelligence Unit in Taytay, Rizal. The anti-drug operation took place early on October 28, 2024, at approximately 12:27 AM along Cabrera Road, Brgy. Dolores.

The operation led to the arrest of a suspected high-value individual known as “Jayson,” a 21-year-old drug pusher residing in Brgy. San Juan, Taytay. He was apprehended after selling a packet of suspected shabu to an undercover police officer posing as a buyer.

Authorities recovered nine packets of suspected shabu during the operation. The total weight of the drugs was around 140 grams, with an estimated street value of Php952,000.

In addition to the illegal drugs, various drug paraphernalia were also found in the possession of the suspect. The seized items included a sling bag that was used to conceal the contraband.

The confiscated evidence was immediately taken to the Rizal Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory testing. This step is crucial to confirm the substances’ identity and gather solid proof for the case.

The arrested suspect is facing charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 (RA 9165). Authorities are now preparing to file the criminal complaints.

PCOL Felipe Maraggun, Provincial Director of the Rizal Police Provincial Office, commended the operation’s success. He vowed that the police would continue their efforts to clamp down on the illegal drug trade across the province.
