164 Arrested in Laguna’s One-Week Anti-Criminality Operations

Laguna – A total of 164 individuals were apprehended during the Laguna Police Provincial Office’s (PPO) week-long anti-criminality operations led by Acting Provincial Director, PCOL Gauvin Mel Y. Unos.

The operations, conducted from November 11 to 17, 2024, focused on combating illegal drugs, illegal gambling, apprehending wanted persons, and addressing the proliferation of loose firearms across Laguna.

Highlights of the Operations:

Illegal Drugs:
Laguna PNP carried out 36 operations, resulting in the arrest of 44 suspects. Confiscated items included approximately 40.9 grams of suspected shabu and 9 grams of marijuana, with an estimated total street value of ₱279,200.

Illegal Gambling:
The unit conducted 19 operations targeting illegal number games (commonly known as “bookies”), leading to the arrest of 19 individuals. Additionally, 12 operations against other forms of illegal gambling led to the apprehension of 33 suspects, with bet money amounting to ₱712,902 seized.

Manhunt Operations:
Nineteen most wanted individuals were captured, including one at the regional level, six at the provincial level, and 12 at the city/municipal level. An additional 49 wanted persons were also arrested.

PCOL Unos emphasized the significance of community cooperation in the success of these operations, stating, “The Laguna PNP’s anti-criminality initiatives are effective thanks to the unwavering support of our community. We assure the people of Laguna that we will continue to combat criminality to ensure security, peace, and order across the province.”
