GIANT CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY MARKS START OF HOLIDAY SEASON IN CALAMBA CITY

Calamba City, Laguna – The holiday spirit officially came alive as Mayor Roseller “Ross” H. Rizal led the lighting ceremony of the giant Christmas tree at The Plaza, marking the beginning of the city’s much-anticipated Christmas Wonderland celebration.

With the theme “Maligayang Pasko, Calambeño! Mundo ni Rizal, Puso ng CalamBAGO!” this year’s decorations highlight the enduring legacy of Dr. Jose Rizal, Calamba’s most celebrated son, and the places he visited during the Christmas season throughout his lifetime.

In his message, Mayor Rizal emphasized the significance of the event, stating:
“Atin pong pinagdiriwang ang diwa ng Pasko at ang buhay ng atin pong Pambansang Bayani, Dr. Jose Rizal. Dito po sa ating mga dekorasyon ay makikita po ang mga lugar na pinuntahan po ng ating Pambansang Bayani tuwing Kapaskuhan!”

He added that the lights symbolize hope and inspiration for everyone in the community:
“Nawa po sa bawat ilaw na ating sinindihan ay may dalang pag-asa at maging inspirasyon para sa ating lahat!”

The event was attended by a vibrant crowd of Calambeños eager to experience the enchanting atmosphere of the City Hall Complex, adorned with dazzling lights, festive decorations, and booths from the CalamBagong Christmas Bazaar. Families and visitors are encouraged to explore the attractions and immerse themselves in the holiday cheer.

Mayor Rizal concluded his speech with a heartfelt invitation:
“Ano pa pong iniintay ninyo? Halina at isama po ang ating mga pamilya! Isang makaDiyos at makaRizal na nalalapit na Pasko, mga minamahal kong Calambeño!”

The celebration not only reflects the city’s rich cultural heritage but also underscores its commitment to unity and progress, true to the spirit of CalamBAGO.
