Los Baños Police Seizes Php 1.3M Worth of Shabu and Illegal Firearms; High-Value Individual Arrested

Los Baños, Laguna – In a significant operation against illegal drugs, the Los Baños Municipal Police Station (MPS) successfully seized Php 1,363,400 worth of shabu and an unlicensed firearm during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tadlak on December 8, 2024.

The operation, conducted at around 3:50 AM, targeted a high-value individual (HVI) identified as alias “Putin,” a 27-year-old male resident of Purok 1B, Barangay Tadlak. The suspect is listed in the Laguna Police Provincial Office (PPO) Drug Watchlist.

Recovered from the suspect were approximately 200.50 grams of suspected shabu, a Caliber .38 revolver with five live ammunition, and drug bust money.

PBGEN Paul Kenneth T. Lucas, Regional Director of Police Regional Office (PRO) CALABARZON, commended the efforts of the Los Baños Drug Enforcement Unit for the successful operation.

> “This remarkable achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to eradicating illegal drugs and ensuring a safer, drug-free community,” said PBGEN Lucas. “I urge every citizen to join us in this fight by reporting illegal activities and supporting anti-drug programs. Together, we can achieve a ‘Bagong Pilipinas.’”

The suspect and confiscated items were brought to the Regional Crime Laboratory Office 4A for drug testing and further examination. Authorities are preparing charges against the suspect for violations of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

This operation marks another milestone in the PRO CALABARZON’s ongoing mission to combat illegal drugs and enhance public safety.
