Calamba City, Laguna – The Laguna Police Provincial Office, under the leadership of PCOL Gauvin Mel Y. Unos, Acting Provincial Director, achieved a milestone by recording zero focus crime incidents over the past two days. This remarkable achievement comes as part of the intensified security measures for the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The Laguna PNP deployed 1,045 personnel across key locations, including churches, transport hubs, and commercial areas, supported by 425 personnel from government agencies such as the Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Additionally, 12,914 force multipliers from advocacy support groups joined forces to maintain public safety.

Innovative measures, such as drone-assisted Sky Patrols and increased patrols by 98 Motorcycle Cops and 22 Bicycle Cops, further bolstered the police’s presence in critical areas.

Law enforcement also made significant arrests, apprehending 4 Most Wanted Persons and 3 other fugitives under “Project Paskulong,” a directive from Police Regional Office 4A Regional Director PBGEN Paul Kenneth T. Lucas targeting individuals with outstanding warrants during the holidays.

Meanwhile, 16 drug suspects were detained in 11 operations, resulting in the confiscation of Php 374,345 worth of suspected shabu.

PCOL Unos emphasized the importance of collaboration: “The PNP will remain on full alert status, maximizing deployment and police operations to ensure the safety of our communities and tourists. I am also grateful to the agencies and volunteers who actively support our efforts this holiday season.”

Through the comprehensive “IMPLAN Ligtas Paskuhan 2024,” the Laguna PNP is setting a standard for community safety during the festive season, combining preventive and proactive strategies to keep the province crime-free.
