For public service and national defense, Vice Governor Atty. Karen Agapay graced the Closing Ceremony of the Basic Citizen Military Training (BCMT) CL 01-2024 and the Donning of Ranks as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. The event was held at Camp Macario Sakay, marking a proud day for the 4th Regional Community Defense Group (4th RCDG) and the Philippine Army Reserve Command.

Vice Governor Agapay, who has been a staunch advocate of public service and community empowerment, shared her inspiring journey of completing nearly two years of rigorous compliance to qualify as a Major in the Philippine Army Reserve. During her speech, she emphasized the importance of patriotism, discipline, and unity in building a stronger nation.

“Mabuhay ang Laang Kawal ng Pilipinas! Mabuhay ang 4th RCDG!” Agapay declared, expressing her pride in being part of the reserve force dedicated to serving the country.

The ceremony celebrated the dedication of new reservists who completed the BCMT program, recognizing their commitment to national defense and disaster response. Agapay’s donning of rank as Major underscores her multifaceted role as a leader, advocate, and now, a member of the reserve force ready to serve the nation beyond her political duties.

The event was attended by military officials, local leaders, and the families of the new reservists, symbolizing the collective effort to support the Philippine Army Reserve’s mission. Vice Governor Agapay’s achievement was met with applause and admiration, further solidifying her reputation as a “Kaagapay sa Tagumpay” (partner in success) and a role model for the community.
