A joint buy-bust operation on January 22, 2025, led to the arrest of two high-value drug suspects, alias “Muning” and alias “Alex,” in Barangay Poblacion.
The operation was spearheaded by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Lanao del Sur BARMM (PDEA-LDS BARMM), with tactical support from the 43rd Special Action Company, 4th Special Action Battalion of the PNP SAF, and other law enforcement units.
Confiscated during the operation were approximately 500 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) worth an estimated Php 3.4 million, along with one genuine one-thousand-peso bill placed atop six bundles of photocopied bills, two android phones, an NMAX motorcycle, and identification documents.
The suspects were apprehended for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. PDEA-LDS BARMM has taken custody of the suspects and the seized items for proper documentation and legal proceedings.
This successful operation underscores the steadfast commitment of law enforcement agencies in their ongoing fight against illegal drugs, ensuring the safety and security of the community in Lanao del Sur.
