Cayetano Advances Livelihood and Skills Development in Laguna with Dual Initiatives

Laguna, Philippines – Senator Alan Peter Cayetano showcased his dedication to community empowerment on January 20, 2025, through two impactful programs benefiting Laguna residents.

In Biñan, 100 graduates of TESDA’s Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) celebrated their achievements at the Xavier Technical Training Center. The graduates, equally divided between Driving NC II and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC II certifications, expressed gratitude for the training that prepared them for meaningful employment. The ceremony was attended by School Administrator Gertie Quintela and Julius Espinosa, representing Congresswoman Len Alonte.

Meanwhile, in Brgy. Halang, the senator’s office partnered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to deliver Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) assistance to 150 beneficiaries, many of whom were women. The initiative, supported by Laguna Governor Ramil Hernandez, Second District Representative Ruth Hernandez, and DSWD Region 4-A officials, provided capacity-building aid to improve daily living conditions.

“These programs bridge the gap between education, skills, and livelihood, empowering communities to contribute to national progress,” said Cayetano.

The dual events reflect Senator Cayetano’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives of Filipinos through education and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
