Calamba, Laguna – Mayor Roseller “Ross” H. Rizal, together with Vice Mayor Totie Lazaro, the Sangguniang Panlungsod, and Congresswoman Charisse “Cha” Hernandez-Alcantara, led the “Tulong Gulong 2025” initiative from February 26 to 28, providing financial assistance to tricycle drivers across the city. This program, part of the administration’s Ramdam na Reporma, underscores the local government’s commitment to uplifting the transport sector and ensuring that public funds directly benefit the people.

On the first day, Mayor Rizal, accompanied by Vice Mayor Lazaro and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, personally distributed financial aid to tricycle drivers in the Upland Barangays. Many drivers expressed their appreciation, noting that this was the first time they had received such direct support from the local government.

The second day extended the program to Lowland Barangays, with city officials ensuring the smooth implementation of assistance distribution. Mayor Rizal emphasized that tricycle drivers are essential to Calamba’s daily life, and their welfare remains a priority under his administration.

On the third day, the program continued across various barangays, including Bañadero, Bucal, Lecheria, Masili, Parian, Pansol, Sucol, Camaligan, Halang, La Mesa, Makiling, Maunong, Milagrosa, Puting Lupa, Real, Saimsim, and Turbina. In addition to financial aid, a gas subsidy was also provided to further support the livelihood of tricycle drivers.

Congresswoman Cha Hernandez-Alcantara expressed her full support for the initiative, reaffirming her commitment to advocating for additional programs that benefit the transport sector and Calamba residents.

With the rallying cry “GAWA AT HINDI LAMANG SALITA!” (Action, not just words!), Mayor Rizal, Vice Mayor Lazaro, the Sangguniang Panlungsod, and Congresswoman Hernandez-Alcantara vowed to continue delivering responsive and meaningful programs.

“Ganito na tayo sa Calamba – walang maiiwan. Ramdam ang reporma!” Mayor Rizal declared, ensuring that the CalamBAGONG Pamahalaan remains dedicated to real, tangible progress for all.
