Rediscovering Manila: MPT South’s ‘Biyaheng South’ Cultural Tour Brings Caviteños Closer to the Capital’s Heritage

Philippines – With the growing accessibility of Manila from Cavite via the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South) successfully hosted Biyaheng South: Tara, Let’s Explore Manila on March 14, 2025. This immersive cultural tour, in collaboration with Intramuros Administration, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, Food Wanderer x Lakbay Museo, and Space & Time Cube, offered selected travelers a chance to rediscover the rich history, culture, and innovation of the nation’s capital.

Exploring the Cultural Heart of Manila

The event, attended by raffle winners and social media influencers, featured a curated itinerary showcasing Manila’s iconic landmarks.

First Stop: Intramuros – A Walk Through History
The journey began at Palacio del Gobernador, leading to a tranvia ride through the historic streets of Intramuros. Participants visited Fort Santiago, Museo ni Rizal, Baluarte de San Diego, and Casa Manila, where they immersed themselves in centuries-old Philippine history. A traditional Filipino lunch at Barbara’s Heritage Restaurant provided a flavorful conclusion to the tour.

Second Stop: Space & Time Cube – A Modern Contrast
Shifting from history to innovation, the group explored Space & Time Cube PH at S’Maison, Pasay. This interactive art space merged digital technology with artistic expression, offering a futuristic and sensory-filled experience.

Third Stop: Food Wanderer x Lakbay Museo – A Culinary Adventure
The final destination was Food Wanderer x Lakbay Museo at Ayala Malls Manila Bay, where participants engaged in an interactive journey through Filipino culinary heritage. From life-sized food displays to tasting experiences, the museum showcased the country’s rich flavors and traditions.
