Oplan Harabas: LIGTAS BYAHE SEMANA SANTA 2025 Launched in Calamba and San Pedro Cities

Calamba City, Laguna — A joint effort to ensure safe and drug-free public transportation during the Holy Week rush, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office IV-A, under the leadership of Regional Director Atty. Jacquelyn L. De Guzman, spearheaded the “OPLAN: HARABAS – Ligtas Byahe Semana Santa 2025” in coordination with several key agencies.

Partnering with Colonel Elmer Decena, Regional Director of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 4A, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), the Philippine National Police Regional Office IV-A, Calamba City Police Station, and San Pedro City Police Station, the initiative was successfully carried out at two major terminals: Pacita Complex Terminal in San Pedro City and HM Bus Terminal in Barangay Uno, Calamba City.

A total of 229 bus drivers and conductors underwent random drug testing. Initial screening showed that three (3) individuals tested positive for illegal drug use. Their cases are currently pending confirmation through chemical analysis, and their driver’s licenses have been temporarily turned over to the LTO for appropriate action.

In line with PDEA’s commitment to public awareness, educational materials in the form of PDEA Comics were distributed to passengers and terminal bystanders to promote drug-free practices and responsible travel.

The operation reflects the government’s continued commitment to road safety and drug prevention, especially during peak travel seasons.
