Empowering Abilities: Calamba Kicks Off 47th National Disability Rights Week with Inclusive Activities and PWD Bazaar

Calamba City, Laguna — In celebration of the 47th National Disability Rights Week 2025, Calamba City officially launched the week-long event with the opening of the “CALAMBAGONG PWD Bazaar” on Monday, July 14, 2025, held at the City Employees’ Entrance Lobby Hallway near the GSO Building in Calamba City Hall.

Spearheaded by Mayor Roseller “Ross” H. Rizal and PDAO Head Mr. Luisito Apacionado, the bazaar highlights the theme “Innovation for Inclusion: Building Inclusive Communities Together.” It showcases a wide range of products and small businesses owned and managed by Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), offering them a platform to promote entrepreneurship and economic empowerment. The bazaar will run until Friday, July 18, 2025.

This marks the beginning of a week-long celebration from July 14 to 19, which includes various activities aimed at promoting disability rights, awareness, inclusion, and empowerment. The schedule is as follows:

July 14–18 – CALAMBAGONG PWD Bazaar

July 14 (Monday) – “Malikhaing Kamay ni Rizal” Visual Arts Workshop

July 15 (Tuesday) – “Kalinga ni Rizal” Medical Mission for PWDs, Blood Letting Drive, Distribution of Assistive Devices, and PWD Financial Assistance

July 16 (Wednesday) – “Happy Talk with Down Syndrome” Awareness Seminar

July 17 (Thursday) – Search for “CALAMBAGONG Lakan at Mutya ng May Kapansanan 2025”

July 18 (Friday) – CALAMBAGONG Livelihood Seminar

July 19 (Saturday) – “Dangal ni Rizal” Gawad Parangal Awarding Ceremony

This initiative reflects Calamba City’s strong commitment to inclusivity and the celebration of the unique talents, rights, and contributions of persons with disabilities.
