Congresswoman Charisse Anne Hernandez-Alcantara of Calamba City has been entrusted with a key leadership role as the newly appointed Vice Chairperson of the House Committee on Appropriations — one of the most influential panels in the Philippine Congress responsible for crafting the national budget.

Sharing the news, she wrote:
“Mga Calambeño, isa pong karangalan na mapili bilang Vice Chairperson of the Committee on Appropriations sa House of Representatives.”

“This is one of the most important committees in Congress because it is where the government’s funding for the coming years will originate,” she explained.

She further emphasized that her district’s legacy of clean, organized, and efficient fund management will serve as her guiding principle in her new role. “Asahan ninyo ang isang budget na walang bahid ng korapsyon at higit sa lahat, isang budget na tumutugon sa pangangailangan ng mga simple at ordinaryong Pilipino.”
