1 PATAY 8 SUGATAN SA PAGSABOG AT SUNOG SA ABOITIZ POWER PLANT

QUEZON—Isa ang patay at walo ang lubhang nasugatan matapos ang isang pagsabog at pagsiklab ng apoy sa loob ng Aboitiz Power Pagbilao Power Plant na nakabase sa may Barangay Ibabang Polo, bayan ng Pagbilao.

Base sa report ng Pagbilao PNP dakong alas 9:00 ng gabi Oct 31, 2025, ang Unit 3 ng Therma Luzon Inc., Aboitiz Power ay nagdulot ng malakas na pagsabog bago sumiklab ang malaking apoy.

Mabilis na nilamon ng apoy ang Tripper House and Coal Dust Collector Facility na isa sa plants generating units.

Nagresponde ang in house firefighting team ng naturang planta at tumawag pa ng responde sa Pagbilao BFP upang pagtulungan na maapula ang apoy dakong alas 6:00 ng umaga Nov. 1 ng ideklarang fire out at under control na ang naganap na sunog.

Nakuha sa lugar ng mga nagrespondeng bumbero ang mga sugatan empleyado na nagkaroon ng mga injury dulot ng apoy maging ang isang safety officer na nasawi on the spot na nakilalang si Cennen Vincent Ayala, 43 anyos residente ng Brgy.Tambak nabanggit na bayan na ayon sa report ay tumalon di umano ito mula sa itaas at bumagsak sa ikalawang palapag ng Unit 3 na nagresulta ng pagkabasag ng ulo nito.

Subalit ayon di umano sa kanyang kaanak at sa isang kasamahang empleyado na kasama sa insidente na naputulan ng braso si Ayala ay tumilapon dahil sa lakas ng impact ng pagsabog at hindi umano ito kusang tumalon sa building nagrequest naman ang pamilya ng nasawing biktima na isailalim ang bangkay sa awtopsiya upang matukoy ang tunay na dahilan ng pagkamatay nito.

Kasalukuyang nasa pagamutan ang mga biktimang nagkaroon ng burn injury at naputulan ng braso at patuloy pa rin ang gamutan.

Tuloy pa rin ang isinasagawang imbestigasyon ng Pagbilao PNP upang matukoy ang dahilan at pinagmulan ng pagsabog ng planta.
