CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — A wave of new opportunities is coming to Calamba as Samsung Electromechanics Philippines confirmed a massive ₱50.7-billion expansion in Calamba Premier Industrial Park (CPIP), Barangay Batino. According to Mayor Roseller “Ross” H. Rizal, the project will generate around 3,000 jobs for Calambeños, strengthening the city’s position as a key industrial and economic hub in Southern Luzon.

In a meeting earlier today with representatives from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and Samsung Electromechanics, Mayor Rizal pushed for the prioritization of Calambeños in the hiring process, especially for skilled workers, engineers, and managerial positions.

“Magandang balita, mga Calambeños! Isinulong natin na maging priority ang ating mga kababayan sa mga trabahong bubuksan ng Samsung,” Mayor Rizal said, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to inclusive growth and job creation.

To strengthen collaboration, Mayor Rizal is set to sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with PEZA, represented by Atty. Ross Vincent Sy, to implement various development initiatives. These include skills training programs, social responsibility projects, and environmental sustainability efforts that align with Calamba’s vision of a progressive and people-centered city.

Mayor Rizal also lauded the private sector’s confidence in the city’s governance, noting that Samsung’s expansion further solidifies Calamba’s position as one of the country’s leading investment destinations.

“When the private sector trusts the local government, more investments follow — and more opportunities open for our people,” he added.

The ₱50.7-billion expansion marks one of the largest investments in Calamba in recent years, underscoring the city’s growing reputation as a hub for innovation, industry, and employment in Southern Luzon.
