PNP Joint Operation in Aklan Nabs Suspect, Seizes High-Powered Firearms

A coordinated police operation led by the 6th Special Action Battalion (6SAB), Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RDB), and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Aklan Provincial Field Unit resulted in the arrest of a suspect known as “Jovelito” during a search operation in Barangay Napatag, Tangalan, Aklan on November 21, 2025.

Authorities implemented Search Warrant No. EJ0046—issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 11 in Kalibo on November 19—for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Recovered from the suspect were one caliber .30 Garand rifle with 70 rounds of ammunition and a cartridge case; one caliber .45 pistol with two magazines and 16 rounds of ammunition; two holsters; and a sling bag.

CIDG Aklan PFU has taken custody of the arrested individual and the confiscated firearms for documentation and proper disposition.

Police officials said the successful operation reflects the Philippine National Police’s sustained efforts to crack down on illegal firearms and strengthen public safety across Aklan Province.
