Calauan Shines Bright as 90-Foot Christmas Tree Lights Up the Town in Grand Holiday Celebration

Calauan, Laguna — The spirit of a truly Filipino Christmas came alive as the municipality of Calauan officially kicked off the holiday season with its grand Christmas Lighting Ceremony dubbed “Paskong Pinoy, Paskong Calaueño!” on Monday, December 1 at Brgy. Kanluran.

The highlight of the celebration was the lighting of the town’s majestic 90-foot-tall Christmas tree, symbolizing hope, unity, and joy for every Calaueño family. The event was led by Mayor Roseller “Osel” Caratihan, alongside Mayora Wawie Caratihan, Councilor Charles Caratihan, and Vice Mayor Dong Sanchez, with the full support of the Sangguniang Bayan of Calauan, LGU employees, barangay officials, the DepEd family, and thousands of enthusiastic residents.

The night transformed the town into a dazzling holiday destination as visitors were treated to breathtaking attractions, including a 3D hologram water shower featuring various animals and a stunning 29.5-meter-long Tunnel of Lights, which quickly became crowd favorites for photos and family bonding.

Cheers, laughter, and the sounds of Christmas filled the air as the community gathered in celebration of tradition, togetherness, and the season of giving. The overwhelming turnout reflected the strong unity and festive spirit of the people, proudly echoed in the chant, “We Love You Po, Kumpol-Kumpol!”

With the official lighting of its iconic Christmas displays, Calauan once again proved that the true magic of Christmas shines brightest when the whole community comes together.
