A high-value member of a big-time crime group operating across Regions 2, 3, CALABARZON, and Metro Manila was killed while four of his companions were arrested during an anti-illegal drugs operation conducted by the Bacoor Component City Police Station on December 4, 2025.

According to the report, the Intelligence Section and Drug Enforcement Unit of Bacoor CCPS, under the supervision of PLTCOL Alexie A. Desamito, Chief of Police, launched a buy-bust operation around 7:15 p.m. in Brgy. San Nicolas 3, Bacoor, Cavite, following verified information from a confidential informant. Five individuals — identified only by their aliases “Bos,” John, Christian, Percival, and Sheena — all residents of Nueva Ecija and Santiago City, Isabela, were apprehended.

At about 8:55 p.m., while officers were conducting the inventory of seized evidence and preparing the suspects for transport, alias “Bos” complained about tight handcuffs and requested for them to be loosened. However, while PCpl Medino was adjusting his restraints, the suspect reportedly grabbed the officer’s firearm and opened fire. PCpl Yap immediately retaliated to prevent further harm to police personnel and civilians.

The suspect was rushed by the Bacoor Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Police records revealed that the deceased suspect had been involved in various criminal activities, including robbery, swindling, homicide, carnapping, and violations related to illegal drugs. The group is likewise believed to be responsible for multiple robbery-holdup incidents, gun-for-hire operations, carnapping activities, and the sale and use of illegal drugs across several regions.

Recovered from the suspects were ₱1,000 in buy-bust money; six sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 25 grams valued at ₱170,000; three firearms (cal. .45 pistol, 9mm UZI, and cal. .22 firearm) with ammunition; a grenade; three unregistered vehicles; assorted LTO plates; various keys; cellphones; bags; balaclavas; jackets; helmets; clothes; and several IDs, ATM cards, and a Toyota card believed to belong to potential victims. The seized illegal drugs and weapons were brought to the Cavite Provincial Forensic Unit for examination.

SOCO investigators processed the scene, confirming the suspect’s extensive criminal background based on PNP records.

The four arrested suspects are now undergoing documentation for inquest proceedings before the Office of the City Prosecutor for violations of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act), RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), RA 9516 (Illegal Possession of Explosives), and Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code (Resistance and Disobedience to a Person in Authority).

Cavite police are also coordinating with other police units in the province and nearby areas as part of an expanded investigation into recent robbery-holdup cases believed to be linked to the arrested group.

“This successful operation demonstrates the unwavering dedication of the Cavite Police in maintaining peace and security in our communities, especially as the Christmas season approaches. We will continue to intensify our campaign against criminality and illegal drugs to keep Cavite safe and progressive,” said PCOL Ariel R. Red, Acting Provincial Director of Cavite PPO.

The Cavite Police Provincial Office reaffirmed its commitment to combat crime and illegal drugs while ensuring the safety of both law enforcement personnel and the public.
