Mayor Ross Rizal Brings Clean and Reliable Water to Calambeño Ville 1 After 20 Years of Waiting

Under the leadership of Calamba City Mayor Roseller “Ross” H. Rizal, residents of Calambeño Ville 1, Barangay Banlic, Calamba City, Laguna received an early Christmas gift as a long-awaited water supply project was officially completed, ending decades of water hardship in the community.

The project was made possible through the partnership between the City Government of Calamba and the Calamba Water District, led by General Manager Jhun Aguilar, providing a stable and dependable water connection to the entire neighborhood composed of 50 households.

Mayor Rizal emphasized the significance of the project, especially during the holiday season, saying:
“Isang masayang pamasko ang hatid natin sa mga residente ng Calambeño Ville 1 sa pamamagitan ng proyektong patubig na naisakatuparan sa tulong ng Calamba Water District sa pamamagitan ni General Manager Jhun Aguilar. Sa wakas, nagkaroon na ng maayos at maaasahang suplay ng tubig ang buong komunidad na binubuo ng 50 kabahayan.”
(“We are bringing a joyful Christmas to the residents of Calambeño Ville 1 through this water project made possible with the help of the Calamba Water District under General Manager Jhun Aguilar. At last, the entire community of 50 households now has a proper and reliable water supply.”)

He recalled that the need for water access was personally identified during the campaign period, noting the long struggle of residents who relied solely on hand pumps for over two decades.

“Noong nakaraang kampanyahan, personal nating nabisita ang lugar at doon natin nalaman na mahigit 20 taon nang poso lamang ang nagsisilbing tanging pinagkukunan nila ng tubig. Isang matagal nang pangangailangan na hindi dapat ipagwalang-bahala.”
(“During the last campaign, we personally visited the area and learned that for more than 20 years, hand pumps were their only source of water. This was a long-standing need that should never be ignored.”)
Mayor Rizal stressed that the swift implementation of the project reflects his administration’s commitment to responsive governance and people-centered development.

“Kaya naman agad natin itong inaksyunan. Patunay ito ng ating pangako na pakinggan ang hinaing ng mamamayan at maghatid ng mga proyektong tunay na nagpapabuti sa kalidad ng buhay ng bawat Calambeño.”
(“That is why we acted on it immediately. This is proof of our promise to listen to the people’s concerns and deliver projects that genuinely improve the quality of life of every Calambeño.”)

The completion of the Calambeño Ville 1 water project stands as another concrete example of the Rizal administration’s focus on basic services, dignity, and sustainable community development, ensuring that no neighborhood is left behind in Calamba City’s progress.
