Camarines Norte – On February 4, 2026, personnel from 9SAB of this Unit provided tactical support to 42nd Infantry Battalion, 9th Infantry Division of Philippine Army and other PNP units during counterinsurgency operation that resulted in the surrender of a.k.a. Pots and a.k.a. Luis, both PSR-listed CTG members under Kilusang Gerilya 1, Sub-Regional Committee 1, Bicol Regional Party Committee for 4th Quarter CY 2025 in Brgy. Mahawanhawan, Labo, Camarines Norte and recovery of arms cache in the vicinity of Brgy. Baay, Labo, Camarines Norte.

Upon their surrender, they disclosed the location of an arms cache.  Consequently, a combat operation was conducted resulting in the recovery of one 7.62mm M60 machine gun, one caliber .30 M1919 machine gun, one anti-tank landmine, 360 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, 500 rounds of caliber .30 ammunition, and four rolls of detonating wire.

42IB, 2ID, PA took custody of the recovered items for documentation and proper disposition. The surrenderers are currently undergoing documentation and processing for possible enrolment in the E-CLIP to help them reintegrate into mainstream society.

The success of the operation underscores the unwavering commitment of the security forces to intensify counterinsurgency efforts, dismantle armed communist terrorist groups, and maintain peace, security, and stability in the area.
