CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — Five individuals were arrested while suspected illegal drugs were confiscated during a police operation conducted in the early hours of Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in Barangay 2, Tibag, Calamba City.
Personnel of the Calamba City Police Station (CCPS), led by members of the Tactical Motorcycle Riding Unit (TMRU), conducted an Oplan Galugad operation at around 2:30 a.m. in Purok 5, Barangay 2, Tibag, as part of intensified efforts against all forms of criminality within the city.


Under the supervision of PLtCol. Dennis C. De Guzman, during the patrol, police officers observed a group of individuals standing by the roadside who appeared to be handing items to one another. When authorities approached, some of the individuals attempted to flee. Five suspects, however, were immediately intercepted by the responding officers.


One of the suspects was seen holding, in plain view, a white heat-sealed plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu. A subsequent search incidental to a lawful arrest resulted in the recovery of additional plastic sachets containing suspected shabu from the other suspects, including one sachet with drug residue.


The confiscated items, consisting of several white heat-sealed plastic sachets, weighed approximately two (2) grams and had an estimated street value of ₱13,600.00. The seized substances were suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu.


The arrested individuals were identified by their aliases as Robert, 33; Jomar, 32; Throy, 26; Reymart, 33; and Rey, 42. All are currently unemployed and residents of various barangays in Calamba City and nearby areas.


The operation was properly documented using an Alternative Recording Device (ARD) and was conducted in the presence of a media representative and an elected official of Barangay 2, Calamba City, ensuring transparency and compliance with legal procedures.
The suspects were arrested for violations of Sections 11 and 12, Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.


They are now under the custody of the Calamba City Police Station for documentation and inquest proceedings.
