The Provincial Government of Laguna, under the leadership of Sol Aragones, reinforced its commitment to public health as it convened a comprehensive advocacy meeting on February 13, 2026, at the 3rd Floor Provincial Health Office (PHO) Conference Hall.


In collaboration with the Provincial Health Office (PHO), the initiative focused on strengthening Executive Order No. 42, s. 2014, and reviewing proposed amendments to Provincial Ordinance No. 15, s. 2018. The meeting aimed to ensure a more robust enforcement framework against tobacco use across the province.


During the session, officials presented the draft amendment to Executive Order No. 42, s. 2014, followed by an in-depth discussion and open forum. Department heads and key stakeholders shared insights and recommendations, particularly on enhancing compliance measures and safeguarding community health through improved policy implementation.


The PHO also provided updates on its Tobacco Control Program, outlining ongoing strategies and initiatives designed to curb tobacco consumption. The discussion highlighted the province’s proactive stance in addressing the health risks associated with smoking and secondhand smoke exposure.


The meeting concluded with a thorough presentation and review of the draft amendments to Provincial Ordinance No. 15, s. 2018. Officials emphasized the importance of sustained monitoring, strict enforcement, and strong community support to ensure the effectiveness of anti-tobacco measures.


Through these coordinated efforts, the Provincial Government reaffirmed its dedication to prioritizing public health and fostering a safer, tobacco-free environment for all Lagunenses.
