Calamba Kicks Off ‘Oplan SUMVAC,’ Declares Full Summer Readiness Under Mayor Roseller “Ross” H. Rizal

Laguna, Philippines — The local government of Calamba has officially kicked off its summer readiness campaign, Oplan SUMVAC, signaling the city’s full preparation for the influx of tourists during the peak vacation season.

Led by Mayor Roseller “Ross” H. Rizal, the ceremonial launch was held at exactly 7:00 a.m. on March 30, 2026 at the City Hall of Calamba, City, Laguna. The initiative underscores Calamba’s commitment to maintaining its reputation as the country’s “Resort Capital of the Philippines.”

In his message, Mayor Rizal emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts to ensure public safety and a positive experience for both residents and visitors.
“Today, we officially begin Oplan SUMVAC. Together, we strengthen our city’s preparedness with the support of various agencies, departments, and 40 accredited non-government organizations,” he said.

The mayor highlighted that the collaboration aims to guarantee safety, order, and enjoyment throughout the summer season, particularly as tourist arrivals are expected to surge.

Oplan SUMVAC mobilizes multiple units of the city government, alongside partner agencies and NGOs, to oversee key areas such as traffic management, emergency response, environmental protection, and public assistance.

“Calamba is ready—safe, organized, and joyful—for everyone this summer,” Mayor Rizal assured.
With the initiative now in full swing, authorities encourage the public to cooperate with safety protocols and enjoy a worry-free summer in one of the country’s top leisure destinations.
