Tracker Team Nabs 28-Year-Old Construction Worker in Calamba for Domestic Violence Charges

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — Authorities have arrested a 28-year-old construction worker wanted for alleged violations of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act (RA 9262) in an operation conducted by the Tracker Team of the Calamba City Police Station (CCPS) on Tuesday afternoon, January 20, 2026.

The suspect was identified as Raymart Betchayda Zaragoza, male, single, and a resident of Purok 1, Barangay Mapagong, Calamba City. He was apprehended at around 4:08 p.m. in the same barangay by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued on January 19, 2026 by Hon. Alvin Bugayong Tanguanco, Presiding Judge of the Family Court, Fourth Judicial Region, Branch 8, Calamba City.

Zaragoza is facing two counts of violation of Section 5(a) of Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, under Criminal Case Nos. 47599 to 47600-2026-C. The court recommended bail in the amount of ₱3,000.00 for each count.
According to police, the operation was carried out by the Tracker Team of Calamba CCPS after verifying the whereabouts of the accused. The arrest was conducted in an orderly manner and was documented using an alternative recording device, in compliance with existing operational procedures.

Following his arrest, Zaragoza was informed of his constitutional rights and was issued the required Anti-Torture Warning. He is currently under the custody of Calamba CCPS while the Return of Warrant of Arrest is being prepared for submission to the issuing court. An Incident Report (IR) has likewise been forwarded to the Police Intelligence Unit (PIU).

The arrest and subsequent custodial procedures were conducted under the supervision of PLTCOL Dennis C. De Guzman, Officer-in-Charge of Calamba CCPS.

Police authorities reiterated their commitment to the strict enforcement of laws protecting women and children and urged victims of domestic violence to report abuses promptly so that appropriate legal action may be taken.
