CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — The City of Calamba served as the venue for a significant public consultation on the proposed Anti-Dynasty Bill, held at the Jose Rizal Coliseum under the leadership of Senator Risa Hontiveros, Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Election and Suffrage.
The event gathered local officials, stakeholders, and members of the community to openly discuss the importance of political reforms and the role of citizen participation in shaping the country’s governance.
Mayor Ross Rizal welcomed Senator Hontiveros during her visit to Calamba on February 11, 2026, emphasizing the city’s support for initiatives that promote transparency, accountability, and democratic engagement.
“Patunay ito ng patuloy na pagbibigay-halaga sa bukas na talakayan at pakikilahok ng mamamayan sa mahahalagang usaping may kinalaman sa pamamahala at kinabukasan ng ating bayan.” Mayor Rizal said.
The consultation highlighted the government’s continuing efforts to encourage inclusive dialogue on policies that could have a lasting impact on the nation’s political landscape and future leadership.
