President Marcos Highlights Food Security, Economic Growth in Calamba Trip

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — Ferdinand Marcos Jr. personally visited a major food warehouse in Calamba City on March 20, 2026, as part of the national government’s efforts to ensure stable food supply and keep prices affordable amid ongoing challenges.

The President was warmly received by Calamba City Mayor Roseller ‘Ross’ H. Rizal and Congresswoman Charisse Anne ‘Cha’ Hernandez-Alcantara, along with Hansel Marantan and Barangay Mayapa Chairperson Vicky Torres-Sombillo.

During the visit, Marcos inspected the Century Pacific Food Inc. warehouse to assess supply conditions and ensure that essential goods remain accessible to Filipinos. His inspection underscores the administration’s proactive response to safeguard food security and stabilize market prices during the current crisis.

Local officials also took the opportunity to discuss peace and order concerns in Laguna and the wider CALABARZON region, emphasizing the importance of security in sustaining economic growth.

The President likewise recognized the role of emerging economic zones in Calamba, highlighting their contribution to job generation and business expansion in the district.
For her part, Hernandez-Alcantara expressed full support for the national government’s initiatives, saying, “Asahan ninyo ang pakikiisa ng Calamba sa mga hakbang natin upang malampasan ang kasalukuyang krisis.”

City officials extended their gratitude to President Marcos for his visit, noting that it reflects the national government’s commitment to ensuring that no Filipino is left behind in times of need.
