SUSPECTED ACCOMPLICE IN LUMBAN 7-ELEVEN ROBBERY FOUND DEAD; POLICE PROBE POSSIBLE LINK

LUMBAN, LAGUNA — An unidentified man believed to be possibly connected to the robbery of a 7-Eleven convenience store in Barangay Primera Parang was found dead with multiple stab wounds in Barangay Sto. Niño, Lumban, in the early hours of Thursday, October 29.

According to the Lumban Municipal Police Station, the body was discovered around 3:45 a.m. at the River Control Area while police were conducting follow-up operations to track down two armed men who robbed the convenience store earlier that morning.

The two suspects, both wearing black hooded jackets and face masks, reportedly threatened two store employees with a gun and a knife before forcibly taking approximately ₱16,000 from the cash register.

CCTV footage showed that one of the suspects was carrying an umbrella while inside the store. The robbery lasted less than 30 seconds before the perpetrators fled toward the River Control Area in Barangay Sto. Niño, where the unidentified man’s body was later discovered.

Police are now investigating whether the deceased man was one of the two robbery suspects or had some other involvement in the incident.

Authorities have launched CCTV backtracking operations and sought assistance from the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) to conduct a thorough examination of the area. Investigators are also looking for possible witnesses who could help establish the circumstances surrounding the man’s death and the robbery.

Meanwhile, police continue their efforts to identify and locate the remaining suspects as the investigation into both incidents progresses.
