CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — The City Government of Calamba has received the Gawad Serbisyong Mahusay Award from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in recognition of its programs promoting the welfare and well-being of young people.

Among the initiatives recognized was the Peer Solution Project: Provision of Free Psychosocial Services for the Youth, which provides support, guidance, and psychosocial services to help address the needs of young people.

According to Mayor Roseller H. Rizal, only Calamba City and Baguio City received the distinction, highlighting the recognition given to their youth-focused initiatives.

“Tanging Calamba City at Baguio City lamang ang pinagkalooban ng naturang parangal.”

Mayor Rizal reaffirmed the city’s commitment to strengthening programs that protect and support the youth and help them build a better future.

“Patuloy nating isusulong ang mga programang nagbibigay-proteksyon, suporta, at mas magandang kinabukasan para sa bawat kabataang Calambeño.”

The award underscores the importance of accessible psychosocial support and youth-centered programs in promoting the welfare, development, and future of young people in the community.
