BATANGAS — Nabiktima ng online scam ang isang babaeng may-ari ng sari-sari store matapos umano’y malimas ang laman ng kanyang GCash account na aabot sa 81,500.00 pesos sa Lipa City.
Nangyari ang insidente noong Abril 16, bandang alas-9 ng gabi, nang magpa-cash in ang isang lalaki sa tindahan ng biktima.
Ayon sa biktima, sinabi umano ng suspek na magbabayad lamang ito ng parcel sa Lazada at nagpa-cash in ng halagang ₱540.
Subalit makalipas nito, napansin na lamang ng biktima ang sunod-sunod na online transactions sa kanyang account hanggang sa tuluyang maubos ang laman nito na umabot sa 81,500.00 pesos.
Sa pahayag ng babaeng biktima, hinihiling niya ang tulong ng publiko upang matukoy ang pagkakakilanlan ng suspek, na aniya’y kumuha ng perang pinaghirapan nila.
Batay sa paunang impormasyon, posibleng gumamit ang suspek ng panlilinlang o social engineering upang makakuha ng access o pahintulot sa account ng biktima, na nagresulta sa sunod-sunod na online payments.
Samantala, pinaalalahanan ng ilang netizens ang publiko na maging maingat sa mga kahalintulad na transaksyon, lalo na sa paghawak ng sariling mobile device at sa pagbibigay ng sensitibong impormasyon gaya ng OTP at PIN.
Hinikayat din ang mga biktima ng ganitong insidente na agad i-report sa mga awtoridad tulad ng Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group upang matulungan sa imbestigasyon.
Patuloy naman ang panawagan ng store owner na mahuli ang salarin at maibalik ang perang nawala sa kanya.
