On a press briefing held at Camp Vicente Lim, Mayapa, Calamba City, Laguna, June 8, 2026, the suspect in the killing of a fellow bread vendor in Pampanga is now under the custody of the Police Regional Office (PRO) Calabarzon after being tracked down by authorities in the region.

According to PRO Calabarzon Regional Director PBGen. Hansel M. Marantan, the suspect, identified only by the alias “Ariel,” voluntarily surrendered to police authorities in Quezon Province. The suspect was allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of the victim, known as alias “Angelo,” following a heated argument that escalated into a conflict and physical confrontation.
In response to the incident, personnel from the San Fernando City Police Station immediately launched hot pursuit and tracking operations to locate and apprehend the suspect. Through verification efforts and follow-up intelligence operations, authorities confirmed that the suspect had fled and was hiding in the municipality of San Antonio, Quezon.

Law enforcement operatives promptly coordinated with the Quezon Police Provincial Office (PPO) under the leadership of Provincial Director PCol. Romulo Albacea. The Quezon PPO then worked closely with the local government of San Antonio, led by Mayor Erick M. Wagan, resulting in the successful location of the suspect and his eventual surrender to authorities.

The suspect remains in police custody as authorities prepare the appropriate criminal charges to be filed against him in court.

Meanwhile, Director Marantan emphasized that the successful surrender of the suspect highlights the importance of public trust and strong cooperation between communities and law enforcement agencies. He noted that such partnerships play a vital role in maintaining public safety and ensuring that individuals accused of committing crimes are held accountable under the law.
