CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — Mayor Roseller “Ross” H. Rizal has placed Calamba City under Heightened Alert Status following the strong earthquake recorded in Sarangani Province, citing the need to prepare for possible aftershocks and other related incidents.

In a memorandum signed by the mayor, the city government activated heightened preparedness measures to ensure the safety and security of residents amid concerns over potential earthquake-related emergencies.

Mayor Rizal said the declaration aims to strengthen the city’s readiness and enable government agencies to respond swiftly should any emergency situation arise.

As part of the directive, all members of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC), city government offices, and designated lead agencies have been instructed to raise their level of preparedness, intensify coordination efforts, and maintain readiness for immediate response operations.

The mayor emphasized the importance of a unified and proactive approach among concerned agencies to safeguard the welfare of Calambeños and ensure that essential services remain available during emergencies.

Mayor Rizal also assured residents that the city government will continue to enhance its disaster preparedness, monitoring, and coordination efforts to keep the community protected from any potential threats resulting from the earthquake.

“The safety of every Calambeño remains our top priority,” Mayor Rizal said as he called on the public to remain vigilant and stay informed through official government advisories.
