Calamba Police Arrest 45-Year-Old Man, Seize ₱3,400 Worth of Suspected Shabu in Looc

CALAMBA CITY, LAGUNA — A 45-year-old man was arrested after police operatives allegedly caught him in possession of suspected shabu during an anti-criminality operation in Barangay Looc, Calamba City, Laguna, on September 8, 2026.

The suspect, identified only as alias “R,” a farmer and resident of Calambeño Ville II, Barangay Looc, was apprehended at around 7:20 p.m. by intelligence operatives of the Calamba Component City Police Station (CCPS) under the supervision of PLTCOL Dennis C. De Guzman.

Police identified the arresting officers as PCpl Mark Jason V. Dalioan and PMSg Christopher John L. Chupeco, both assigned as intelligence operatives at the Calamba CCPS.

According to police, the operatives were conducting Oplan-Galugad against various forms of criminality when they noticed a group of individuals gathered along an alleyway in the residential area of Calambeño Ville II.

The operatives allegedly observed alias “R” handing a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a crystalline substance suspected to be shabu to members of the group. When the officers approached and identified themselves as police personnel, the other individuals reportedly fled in different directions, while alias “R” was apprehended.

Police said two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substances suspected to be shabu were recovered from the suspect. The seized substance had an estimated gross weight of 0.50 gram and a reported standard drug price of ₱3,400.

The suspect was informed of the nature and cause of his arrest, as well as his Miranda Rights and the Anti-Torture Warning Act. He is currently under the custody of the Calamba CCPS for documentation and inquest proceedings.

The operation was recorded using one Alternative Recording Device (ARD). The suspect is set to face charges for alleged violation of Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
