Camp BGen Vicente P Lim- A Chinese national allegedly kidnapped by an unidentified foreign national was rescued by personnel of Alangilan Police Community Precint – Batangas City Police Station.

The victim, female (name withheld), native of Shanghai, China, was allegedly kidnapped by an unidentified foreign national suspect on September 17, 2022 around 12:30 AM in Angeles City, Pampanga. The kidnappers detained her for 20 days until she managed to escape from a residential house in Brgy. Alangilan, Batangas City.

The PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group confirmed the kidnapping of the subject in exchange for $200,000 ransom.

PRO CALABARZON Regional Director, Police Brigadier General Jose Melencio C Nartatez, Jr lauded the personnel of Batangas CPS for the successful rescue of the Chinese national. He also directed the Anti-Kidnapping Group 4A (AKG) and operatives of PRO CALABARZON to conduct a thorough investigation of the incident and identify the perpetrators.

“I commend the operatives of Batangas CPS for saving the victim. Your timely response foiled a yet another kidnapping incident involving Chinese Nationals. Such atrocities should not proliferate in our region. We should strengthen our intelligence efforts and maintain police presence in the streets as deterrent to possible kidnapping and other crimes,” PBGEN Jose Melencio C Nartatez said.

Further report revealed that some of the kidnappers were already identified and are now the subject of follow-up operations.

“I want immediate progress in this case and also I want these kidnappers to be arrested. We cannot tolerate these criminals who victimized innocent civilians for their own gain, ” RD Nartatez added. (RPIO)
