Camp BGen Vicente P Lim – Police Regional Office CALABARZON noted a generally peaceful celebrarion of ‘Undas 2022’ in all areas in the region, according to the reports from the five Police Provincial Offices.

Based on the monitoring done by this office, there were a total of 326,923 cemetery goers in the 584 cemeteries and 44 columbarium in the region. Remarkably, there were no recorded violent incidents related to Undas. However, authorities confiscated 179 prohibited items such as bladed weapons, sound equipment and alcoholic drinks brought by cemetery goers which were earlier declared as contraband.

“Ngayong taon, ang selebrasyon ng Undas ay mas higit na mapayapa at wala tayong naitalang malaking insidente na banta sa kaligtasan at seguridad ng ating kababayan habang inaalala ang kanilang mga yumao,” said PBGEN Jose Melencio C Nartatez, Jr.

RD Nartatez lauded the different police stations and other units in the region for doing their duties and responsibilties in ensuring a peaceful observance of All Saints Day or Undas.

“We also acknowledge the community in adhering to the policies of their respective Local Government Units and the massive campaign on Ligtas Undas Tips,” RD Nartatez said.

Earlier, PRO CALABARZON deployed a total of 7, 706 personnel starting on October 29, 2022 as soon as the full alert status was declared by the PNP National Headquarters. “The mobilization of our troops were augmented by personnel from other agencies such as the AFP, BFP, and PCG together with our Force Multipliers,” Nartatez added.

Aside from the establishment of checkpoints, the Municipal and City Police Stations also intensified their police presence and visibility in strategic areas and the cemeteries, and established Police Assistance Desks to assists motorists and travelers. (RPIO4A)
