Camp BGen Vicente P Lim – Four (4) suspects involved in Robbery Incident on November 5 in Diocese Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Brgy Poblacion Uno, Pagsanjan, Laguna were arrested by operatives of Pagsanjan Municipal Police Station during a hot pursuit/follow up operations on November 6, 2022, in Sta Cruz, Laguna.


The arrested suspects were identified as Rogel Tarray Oliveros, alias “Gel”, 28, construction worker, resident of Brgy Santo Angel Sur, Sta Cruz, Laguna; Emmanuel Sarmiento Valenzuela, alias “Mukha”, 42, driver, resident of Brgy Gatid, Sta Cruz, Laguna; Jose James San Jose Yaneza, alias “Jimmy”, 75, caretaker, resident of Brgy. Maulawin, Pagsanjan, Laguna; and Bernabe Adriano Bernante, alias “Epi,” 45, janitor, resident of Brgy. San Isidro, Pagsanjan, Laguna. All suspects were previously arrested for Robbery, Illegal Drugs, Physical Injury, Alarms and Scandal respectively.


Meanwhile, operatives are still pursuing the other suspect identified as Gerald Estar Lagamon, 27, construction worker and resident of Brgy. Santo Angel Sur, Sta Cruz, Laguna who is still at large. Lagamon was previously arrested for Violation of Sec 5 and Sec 12 of RA 9165.


According to report from Pagsanjan MPS on November 6, 2022, Marjorie Alcaraz reported that an Oppo mobile phone which is one of the stolen items was tracked in Sta Cruz, Laguna using a device tracking application. Upon receipt of said information, authorities immediately conducted follow-up operation in Brgy. Patimbao, at said town that resulted in the arrest of Rogel Oliveros wherein the mobile phone was recovered in his possession.


Upon arrest, Oliveros revealed that his two cohorts named Lagamon and Valenzuela destroyed the church’s tabernacle and took the cash in the parochial office and the money placed inside 3 donation boxes.


According to Oliveros, Bernante was the one who informed them on how to gain entry and exit passage of the church and where the cash of money was kept.


PRO CALABARZON Regional Director, PBGen Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr., commended and congratulated the operatives of Pagsanjan MPS for their prompt action that resulted in the immediate arrest of the suspects.
“It is very unfortunate that a place like the church was robbed by these suspects. We will make sure that these criminals will be put behind bars. Also, our operatives will continue to conduct operation to locate the remaining suspect and hold him accountable for the crime he committed,” RD Nartatez said.


Documents are now being prepared for filing of complaint against the suspects. ### (RPIO4A)
