The Philippine National Police joined hundreds of bike and cycling enthusiasts during the Bisikleta Iwas Droga Kick-Off Ceremony for the Drug Abuse and Prevention Week 2022 this early morning which starts from Luneta Park to Camp Crame, Quezon City.

PNP Chief Police General Rodolfo S Azurin Jr together with members of Command Group, other PNP high ranking officers, Police Commissioned Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Non-Uniformed Personnel showed their support and commitment to the program initiated by the Dangerous Drugs Board to raise public awareness about the danger of drug abuse.

“One with the DDB in stamping out the illicit supply and demand for dangerous drugs and precursors and govern with Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act 2002, the police force is in everyday support and coordination with the common mission of drug abuse prevention and control in the country.” PGen Azurin stated in his welcome remarks during the activity.

Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, former Chief PNP now Chairman of Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs was the invited Guest of Honor and Speaker during the kick-off ceremony.

PNP Chief Azurin assured the public that the PNP remains strong and committed in intensifying its measures against drug syndicates that continue to wreak havoc on the lives of many Filipinos and destroying the future of Filipino youth.

“By working together thru HOLISTIC, INCLUSIVE and SUSTAINABLE approach, we will tread on our defined path and raise the bar in building a “Crime Free, Drug-Free and Progressive Philippines” thereby ensuring an enabling environment for the future generation to achieve their full growth and potential”, Azurin added.
