In preparation for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) on October 30, 2023, the first Provincial Joint Security Control Center Meeting was held at Batangas Police Provincial Office (BPPO), Camp General Miguel C Malvar at 9 am of July 11, 2023. It was presided by Atty. Jonalyn S. Sabellano, Provincial Election Supervisor of COMELEC Batangas together with the Chairmans Police Colonel SAMSON B BELMONTE, Batangas PPO Provincial Director, Coast Guard Captain Victorino Ronaldo Y Acosta IV, and Lieutenant Colonel Ernesto R Teneza JR from the Philippine Army.
Discussion included the preparations about the incoming BSKE such as deployment by the PNP, AFP, BFP, and PCG to different polling centers. Election Areas of Concern and Threat Evaluation on Government Officials was discussed by PLTCOL RYAN M HERNANDEZ, of BPPO Provincial Intelligence Unit while Internal Security Operation (ISO) assessment was discussed by LTC Teneza JR of the Philippine Army.
COMELEC resolutions regarding the Gun Ban were presented by Attorney Sabellano.
An open forum was facilitated by PLTCOL RADAM R RAMOS, of BPPO Provincial Operations Management Unit to address concerns and to clarify uncertainties which will then be addressed in the next PJSCC meeting.
“BSKE elections is still months ahead of us but we will not waste time in preparing for a safe and fair election this coming October 30. I urge the public to cooperate with the plans that the government especially the PNP has to have a successful election.” – PCOL BELMONTE
